Our Story

Coffee should create value at origin

Founded in Costa Rica in 2019 by Gally Mayer, Buena Vida grew from a search for exceptional coffee into a mission centered on the people and living systems that make each harvest possible.

Farmer and soil first

Mission

Farmer and soil first

Our mission is to empower Latin American specialty coffee farms through regenerative agriculture, collaboration and education. We work with producers and partners to strengthen commercial relationships while keeping origin, land and long-term viability visible in the coffee we share.

How we work

Producer relationships, from farm to cup.

Buena Vida works across farms, buyers, cafés, restaurants, universities and other collaborators to keep origin visible. Coffee is not a faceless commodity to us; it is an agricultural product shaped by people, place, process and long-term stewardship.

A process, not a label

Regeneration

A process, not a label

Our regenerative work continues to evolve with our farm partners, measurement systems and certification pathways. We prefer evidence, learning and continuous improvement over treating any single label as the whole story.
