Our Impact
“Regeneration is not a destination, but a continuous journey of stewardship, equity, and renewal from the soil to the cup.”
Environmental Restoration

Restoring Ecosystems & Sequestering Carbon
- 350 hectares Regenified-certified, or 875 acres collectively under regenerative management.
- Farms sequester over 1,400 tonnes of CO₂ each year—equivalent to removing 300 cars from the road
- Healthier soils reduce dependence on synthetic fertilizers, major sources of potent nitrous oxide.
Water Conservation & Quality
- Over 87,500 gallons of water conserved within the soil across our farms annually.
- Regenerative soils act as natural sponges, retaining up to 20% more water.
- Elimination of harmful agrochemicals ensures cleaner water flows to local communities.
Soil Health
Composting and rotation have increased organic matter, creating living soils that regenerate themselves over time.
Climate Resilience
Our farms are more resilient to droughts and floods, withstanding weather extremes that devastate conventional farms.
Economic Empowerment
Our Premium Pricing Model
The median specialty coffee price sits at $3.50 per pound, but far below the true value of regenerative production. Historically, coffee prices rarely exceeded $1.80 per pound.
100% of Buena Vida’s coffee is purchased at an average of $6.00 per pound—nearly double the median specialty price.
Certification as the Floor
We view certification as the floor, not the ceiling. We cover the costs of all certifications, ensuring farmers are not financially penalized for their stewardship.
Long-term Stability
All of our farmers benefit from multi-year contracts (2–5 years) with guaranteed minimum prices, providing unmatched financial stability.

Financial Inclusion (BAC San José)
Smallholder coffee producers often carry significant debt, with commercial interest rates frequently exceeding 20% annually. Through our partnership with BAC San José, farmers are able to secure loans at reduced interest rates of approximately 8%, easing debt pressure and improving cash flow. This access to affordable financing enables reinvestment in farm productivity, resilience, and long-term regenerative practices.
