Las Nubes's Story
La Finca Las Nubes is a Regenified-certified farm owned by Roberto Mata with his grandson, Erick Mata, that grows, washes, dries, and peels their own coffee beans in central Costa Rica, in the region of Los Santos just south of the capital city of San José. Growing a variety of vegetation among the coffee plants like banana and poro trees, forbs, and grasses, Roberto is guided by the knowledge and experience of several past generations of farmers in his family, embracing regenerative agricultural practices, working to keep soil covered and secured throughout the year and provide more shade to the coffee bean plants. In addition to these practices, as Las Nubes does everything by hand, there is little to no soil erosion, greater water and carbon dioxide absorption into the soil, and higher quality coffee beans grown and ultimately selected for your cup of specialty coffee.
